General Info

Hello and thank you for registering for our first annual Lamar University VEX IQ Robotics Competition! 

We are excited to host you on our campus as it’s an excellent opportunity for your students to see what university life is like.  

Our event will be occurring at the Lamar University - Science & Technology Building 

919 Iowa Street, Beaumont, TX 77705

Check in will begin at 8:00 AM and matches will begin at 9:30 AM. If everything runs on time, the event should be completed by 5:30 PM.  

We will have concessions available for purchase, but there is also a Chick-fil-A open at 10 AM a short walk from the Science and Technology Building in the Setzer Student Center.  

Parking is available in Lot G-2 (Parking map attached). No permit is necessary.  

We require that every student attendee fill out an additional, Lamar University specific waiver form. Please bring these with you to the event or email them to [email protected] prior to the event.  

We can’t wait for competition!

Code of Conduct

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of bad weather or cancellation of the event, the event partner will make every effort to reschedule the event. Coaches and mentors will be notified with as much advance notice as possible. 

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: Refunds will be issued if rescheduling the event is not possible or a team is unable to attend the new date.  

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: No refund will be issued. 

 

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
