General Info
Congratulations on earning a spot at the 2024 Southern California VEX IQ Middle School Championship - NW LOS ANGELES.
***You may register at either site that has space available for the championship that your team qualified for - please read the entire event posting before registering.***
Teams will be moved to the wait list if they have not completed the payment by February 25, 2024. It is your responsibility to make sure that the payments have been processed in time. We will use the visible record of payment on robotevents.com to make the determination.
Event updates will be sent via email to the Team Contacts for your team on RobotEvents.com. Please keep your Team Contacts up to date to ensure that you receive them.
All initial judging will be done Remotely. Digital Engineering Notebooks and Remote Judging Sign-Up Forms will be due by Friday, February 16, 2024 or by your Payment Due Date, whichever is later. Team interviews will be scheduled in the order that sign-up forms are received. Details will be in the Remote Judging tab on the event webpage and in event update emails.
Parking is available in the school's parking lot on Lurine Ave between Mayall St and Lemarsh St. The event will be held in the Gymnasium Chancellor Hall.
We plan to have four Teamwork competition fields, two Robot Skills competition fields, and eight practice fields.
Teams may set up their own practice fields outside the Gym, but they will need to keep someone at their pit table who can contact them on request to ensure that they do not miss any matches or follow-up judging interviews.

In the case of bad weather conditions or possible cancellations, please visit the event on Robotevents.com where updates about the event status will be posted as needed. Event Partners will also make every effort to reach teams directly in case of an emergency. Make sure your team contact information is up to date in your robotevents.com account, as this is the information that will be used to contact your team. Teams should make sure their contact information in Robotevents.com includes both school and non-school phone numbers.
Refund and Payment Policies
If the Event Partner cancels the event:
Full refunds minus the $5.00 processing fee will be provided if the event is cancelled.
If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
Full refunds minus the $5.00 processing fee may be provided at the discretion of the Event Partner.

Judging Format
Remote Judging: The Team Interviews will be conducted remotely, and Engineering Notebooks will be submitted to judges electronically. Interviews and Notebook submission deadlines will be scheduled ahead of the event date. Additional details will be posted on the Remote Judging tab and sent to registered teams via email.

Remote Judging Details
Teams must submit a Remote Judging Sign-Up Form by the Due Date to be scheduled for a Remote Judging Interview.

- Include Remote Judging Team Interview schedule preferences in 1-hour blocks.
- Teams must submit a Link for Digital Engineering Notebook by the Due Date to qualify for the Excellence Award, Design Award, and Innovate Award.

- Teams that created hardcopy notebooks can:
- Scan pages and submit as a PDF or as a folder of PDFs.
- Photograph pages and submit as a Photo Gallery, PowerPoint, or folder of images.
- Teams can continue to update Digital Engineering Notebooks after the Due Date, but changes after the Due Date will be disregarded by the judges.
- All team participants (students and one adult) must complete the online Participant Release Form by the Due Date.
- Submit Participant Release Forms on RobotEvents.com, My Account, Registered Teams
- You should have already done this for the events that your team attended previously.
- Coaches and mentors of multiple teams should submit a Participant Release Form for each team.
- Team participants who join new teams should submit new Participant Release Forms. Participant Release Forms cannot be deleted, so any extra forms are ignored.
- Any team member who does not have a Participant Release Form on file might not be allowed to participate in a Remote Judging Team Interview or in matches at the event.
- If a responsible adult team member does not have a Participant Release Form on file, the team might not be allowed to participate in a Remote Judging Interview or in the event.
- The Remote Judging Team Interview Schedule for teams that have been assigned interview times will be posted and updated periodically as forms are received.
