General Info

We are excited to host our annual Vex IQ tournament!

The Falcons Elementary IQ Tournament will be qualifying event for the SC Elementary IQ State Championship.  Teams should upload their Engineering Notebooks to their RobotEvents account by Jan. 5th, 2024.  This will allow the judges more time to review the notebooks and to prepare for interviews that will take place on the day of the event.  Interviews will be held in the Pits.  A set schedule and agenda will be sent out to all coaches a week before our event! 

When teams arrive at Sevier Middle School, they will enter through the back side of the school, at the gym, not the front of the school.  Only registered team members and one coach will be allowed to pit, area around the gym floor, tables will be set up and labled with team numbers.  All other people associated with the teams including parents, siblings, and other spectators must remain in the stands or hallway.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If bad weather forces us to cancell the event, we will move it to the following weekend. 

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels/postpones the event and you are unable to attend than a refund minus $10 will be administered to the teams.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend then a refund will not be administered.

Judging Format

Notebooks are due the Monday before the event for Judges to preform an initial review.

Judges will interview the teams in person the day of the event, in the Pitsn following a schedule.  The schedule for interviews, and agenda will be sent out to coaches a week before the event.  

If teams wish to be in the running for Design and Excellence awards, their Engineering Notebooks need to be uploaded into RobotEvents by Jan. 5th, 2024.  This will allow the judges more time to review the notebooks and to prepare for interviews that will take place on the day of the event.
