General Info

The Shooting Stars VEX IQ Tournament is open to Elementary VEX IQ teams. The event is a State Qualifying event. An organized pizza order will be available, as well as concessions. No outside food will be permitted.

ONLY TEAM MEMBERS AND COACHES WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE PIT AREA. Please make any parents traveling to the tournament aware.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

The event will be cancelled if potential dangerous weather is to occur and the Superintendent cancels school events in Scott County. Teams will be notified of cancellation through the e-mail address provided in RobotEvents during registration.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

  • Teams will receive a full refund minus the $5 REC Foundation processing fee

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

  • Teams will receive a full refund minus the $5 REC Foundation processing fee unless it is past the Closed Registration date. 

Judging Format

  •  Physical Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event.   A hard copy of the Engineering notebooks should be brought the day of the event.
