General Info

We will have a concession stand open, but feel free to bring snacks or any diet-specific foods as there are limited restaurants/convenience stores in the area. 

We will be offering a pre-order burger basket lunch for teams from our concession stand.  You will receive an email with details at a later date in January.

Volunteer

If you're interested in volunteering as a Head Referee, Scorekeeper Referee, or Engineering Judge, please email Mr. Nathan Melson, Robotics Director at [email protected].  He will gladly accept volunteers.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Due to the possibility of winter weather in January, if bad weather occurs, events will either be canceled or rescheduled. Coaches will be emailed in advance. 

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Refunds in this case will be processed on a case-by-case basis. If a refund is issued it will not include the $5 Robot Events processing fee.  Payments must be made by competition day in order to compete in the event.  Teams who have not paid by check-in on competition day will be moved to the waitlist unless approved by the Event Partner ahead of time.  Communication is key to avoid conflicts.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Health and Safety Policies

Please be advised: Team members will be required to wear safety goggles while in the drive box on the practice field, skills field, or competition field.  This is a proper safety practice and will be enforced by the referees.

I will email a map to registered coaches for unloading, parking, and check-In during the second week of January.  We look forward to hosting your VIQC teams.

Judging Format

Please Note:

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged In-Person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.  You may print these and place in a 3-ring binder for judging.
  • Team Sportsmanship will be judged during the competition by observations made by judges.
