General Info
This Tournament is primarily for teams from schools in LAUSD Local District Northwest and Local District Northeast. Other teams may participate if space is available. The event will take place in the Auditorium and the outdoor Cafeteria/Lunch Area at Vintage Magnet Elementary School. Parking is available on the street.
When you register for this tournament, please choose Pay Later as your Payment Method and bring a tournament fee check for $155 per team the day of the event. Please make your check payable to Friends of Vintage Magnet.
Before the Tournament session, teams need to upload the release forms for all student and adult team members in RobotEvents.com.
Teams need to check in and robots need to pass inspection by 8:45 AM to be included in the Teamwork Challenge match schedule.
At Team Check-in, teams turn in tournament fee checks and verify that they have uploaded release forms for all team members.
Each team will be scheduled for Five Teamwork Challenge Challenge Qualifying Matches. Teams can participate in up to Three Driving Skills Matches and up to Three Programming Skills Matches. Robot Skills Challenge Matches are not scheduled. The Finals matches concludes with Teamwork Challenge Finals Matches and Awards.
We will have two competition fields and two practice fields at our Tournament.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Please bring CASH!

7:30 - 8:45 AM Check-In / Robot inspection begin / Turn in Notebooks
Teams not checked in by 8:45AM will be dropped from the tournament. No refunds
8:45 AM Event Meeting
9:00 - 12:00 AM Qualification Matches Begin
Skills matches will be available from 9:30 am - 2:30pm (CLOSED during Lunch). 3 attempts maximum per team (Three Driving Skills Matches AND Three Programming Skills Matches). Please do not wait until the last minute. The queue for skills will close at 2:00 pm. After this, no team will be allowed to the line.
12:00 - 1:00 PM - Lunch
1:30 - 3:00 PM Qualifying Matches Resume
3:15 - 4:00 PM Teamwork Finals Matches
4:15 PM - 4:45 PM Awards Ceremony
4:45 PM - 5:00 PM Tournament Closes

Volunteers will be provided by Vintage Magnet.
Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
In case of inclement weather, the tournament event will be postponed to the following Saturday.
If tournament event can’t be held in person indoors, we will explore the possibility of holding in person outdoors. If event can’t be held in person indoors or outdoors, then we will try to convert the tournament into a Live Remote Tournaments. Skills events must be held in person, but it is possible to schedule one team at a time.
The Event Partner will contact teams if the date must be rescheduled or modified. Teams should keep their contact information up to date on RobotEvents.com and include both school and non-school phone numbers and emails.
Refund and Payment Policies
Full refunds minus the $5.00 processing fee will be available until one week before the tournament. After that, refunds based on special circumstances may be made at the discretion of the Event Partner.
Judging Format
All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
