General Info

Hardin Valley Elementary is excited to host its second annual VEX IQ tournament, Vex in the Valley!  

Teams must be checked in one hour prior to the start of the qualification matches so that the match schedules can be printed. Teams must contact the event partner if they are running late or they will be removed from the team list for the event.

Registered teams will recieve an e-mail prior to the event with event details including lunch, parking, and concessesion information.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Please keep in mind that many factors go into play to keep an event running smoothly and on-time. Please make sure that your teams are aware of the agenda for the day and are keeping up with their alliance match times.

Volunteer

Volunteers are essential to a successful tournament. Please consider volunteering. No prior experience is necessary. Please email [email protected] to sign up. Volunteers will receive any training necessary and guidance as needed throughout the event.  Thank you for considering volunteering!

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If the event must be cancelled due to bad weather or another emergency, every attempt will be made to reschedule the event. If bad weather requires the event to be delayed, but held on the same day, each coach will be notified via email and phone.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

A refund will provided less the $5 Robot Events processing fee.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

No refund will be provided.

Judging Format

All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in person on the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
