General Info

Are you ready for some football....er, ROBOTICS?!

Sunburst Elementary invites you to join us for our VEX IQ "Full Volume" SUPER Bowl for Elementary School Teams!

We are welcoming 24 teams to our school to compete. We will run a full event with both Teamwork and Skills Challenges. This will be a qualifier for the Utah State Championship!*

Please note that we will NOT be accepting physical Engineering Notebooks for judging at this event. All notebook sumissions should be submitted digitally in the "My Accout" sections of your team information on RobotEvents no later than 3:00pm on Friday, January 26, 2024. No engineering notebooks will be judged on the day of the event. Teams who do not submit their engineering notebook digitally in time will not be eligible for the Excellence or Design Awards.

*Qualifying criteria must be met.

Concessions will be available to purchase at the event. All proceeds from the concessions will go to our VEX Robotics program to support and grow our program. Cash and card will both be accepted.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

*Each team will be allowed 3 skills runs for both Driver Skills and Autonomous Skills.

**Judging will include judging for the Excellence Award and Design Award. Teams wanting to be eligible for these awards, must submit a link to their digital engineering notebook no later than 3:00pm on Friday, January 26, 2024.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If weather makes traveling dangerous for teams, please stay home. If we must cancel the tournament due to dangerous weather situations, we will re-schedule if possible. As much notice due to inclement weather will be given as possible.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: Refunds will be given, minus the $5.00 non-refundable fee required by RobotEvents.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: This will be determined on a case-by-case basis, including no refund.

 

Event payment is due by Friday, January 26, 2024. Teams who have not paid will be moved to the waitlist.

Judging Format

Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: 

Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event.

Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. All submissions must be made by 3:00pm on Friday, January 26, 2024.
