General Info

Welcome to the 2024 VEX North Carolina Middle School VEX IQ State Championships

The 2024 North Carolina MS VEX IQ State Championship is a one day event in Harrisburg, NC.  Teams must qualify for the tournament by participating in a regional event by February 10th .   Teams qualify by winning awards at a local tournament or by invitation based on the highest skills scores posted in North Carolina during the season.

The team coach or teacher listed as the main contact in RobotEvents will be responsible for registering for the State Championship event promptly. They will have a two week window to register to KEEP YOUR STATE SPOT after a qualifying event before their invitation to the North Carolina VEX IQ State Championship is lost.

Teams are responsible to have registration fees paid in full three weeks prior to the state championship, unless of course your event you win a state spot is the the final two weeks before states, in which you must be prepared to pay immediately following that event.

*Qualifying events closer to the State Championship only have 2 week to register for states.

**The State qualifying Skills score cut off will be two weeks prior to the state championship.  The number of teams coming by qualifying from the skills list is based on open spots after all events the the state of North Carolina have finished.  Teams that qualify from skills list will have a short time to register and pay for the state championship, please plan accordingly.

Teams that move on to the World Championship Event in Dallas, Texas  will be responsible for registering for the World Championship event promptly.   Plan accordingly and plan to win. The teams coach who is officially listed in robotevents as the primary contact receives all team emails, so read the email titles and content carefully.  Ensure your IT does not block emails from robotevents.com and roboticseducation.org

If a team double-qualifies for a World Championship spot, the next highest ranked team from the State Championship Skills results will receive the invitation.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If CCS VEX has to cancel the event due to an Emergency / Bad Weather refunds will be sent out, minus the RECF $5 processing fee.

Refund and Payment Policies

No refunds will be given for teams regardless of the reason once the event closes.

As with last season, we are unsure of how COVID-19 will impact the tournament season. Our goal is to host all of our events as long as policy will allow. Even if it means the event is closed to spectators and/or limited to the number of adults per team permitted in the facility.

Teams that are unable to attend due to Covid-19 will need to reach out to the event partner so they can move the team to the waitlist and open spots for other teams to compete. These changes need to be made prior to the event closing.

Health and Safety Policies

Remember that Covid-19 may impact the event. We are currently under a mask optional protocol and social distancing of 3 feet where possible. If changes are made within our district regarding face mask, limited capacity, and/or social distancing measures the event partner will email the coaches as soon as possible. Be mindful that changes are happening daily in our state. Be patient and understanding as we continue to navigate through the Covid-19 pandemic.
