General Info
Please Join STEM Southwest Podcast and Be Greater Than Average, LLC as we present a VEX IQ Scrimmage Event with skills challenges and practice matches!
Scrimmages are non-qualifying events (tournaments or leagues) that give teams an additional opportunity to test their robot designs. Scrimmage results do not upload to RobotEvents.com and are not listed on the VEX Via app.
Judging for notebooks and interviews will NOT be done at this scrimmage event.
We will have referees at the Scrimmage event to help teams understand any possible questions about the game rules. All matches will be practice matches and practice skills. They will be run AS IF it is real but scores will not be submitted. This is to help teams with actual competition and to make sure they are understanding the game rules.
It will be expected that teams will follow the REC Code of Conduct at all times.
Please read these documents prior to the event:
Below are some important links. This rest of year's game documentation can be found HERE.
VIQC Full Volume Game Manual - Please note the Specific Game Rules and Game Set Up starting on page 25!
VIQC Robot Inspection Checklist - We will provide a sizing tool, but it is wise to always have your own sizing tool.

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.
For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.
Agenda
All of the following times are in Mountain Time Zone:
CHECKIN: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. To ensure we know who arrived.
INSPECTION: can be done at a team's request. A table will be available with an inspector to answer any questions about the robot's set up.
Practice Matches and Practice Skills will begin as soon as teams are ready. A referee will be at the fields to run matches and skills to answer any questions regarding competition and skills plays. This is informal and will be run on a first come first serve basis. Teams may make changes to their robots as much or often as needed.
JUDGING will not be done at a Scrimmage nor will any scores be formally submitted.
