General Info

First and foremost, all of us at TechPoint Foundation for Youth (TPF4Y) want to commend you for your commitment to bringing robotics to students in the 2023-24 school year.  We know it isn’t always easy, but you continue to work hard to bring engaging opportunities to students and for that we thank you.

Since the launch of the State Robotics Initiative, Indiana has become a leader in competitive youth robotics - we currently boast more VEX IQ robot teams than any other state in the country! This is, in large part, thanks to wonderful Robot Educators like yourselves who have stepped up to coach and support a robotics team. With your help, our goal is to continue to demonstrate to students, parents, school administrators, and the larger community, that competitive robotics can, and should, be elevated to the same level of prominence as sporting events. With this in mind, we are happy to confirm that the 2024 Indiana Robotics State Championship will again be held at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday, March 23, 2024!

As the Event Partner, we are committed to hosting an exceptional event that will reward Indiana students who have worked diligently to earn a chance to compete at the state championship level. Lucas Oil Stadium is known for hosting many of Indiana’s most compelling competitive events, and in March 2024, the Robotics State Championship will again join the list! We hope you and your students are as excited as we are for the impact this event will have on Robotics in Indiana.

If you have any questions feel free to contact us at [email protected].

Thank you for all that you do and we hope to see you at state!

Travel Info

Directions to Lucas Oil Stadium

The Indiana VEX Robotics State Championship will be held on the field at:

Lucas Oil Stadium

500 S Capitol Ave

Indianapolis, IN 46225

Parking

No parking passes will be required this year. We have a specific parking area for teams within the main Lucas Oil Stadium South Lot on the South West side of the stadium. We will allow 1 car from each team to park in this area to make loading-in and out as easy as possible for you. We do have limited spaces available so we are highly encouraging teams, parents, and spectators to carpool if possible.

Load-In

Upon arrival, teams may enter the parking area from Missouri Street (this is a one-way street traveling north) at the southwest corner of the stadium.  All teams will be permitted to load-in via the southwest ramp (on the north end of the parking lot). This ramp will give teams direct access to the main competition area on the field.

Judging Format

  • All Engineering Notebooks will be required to be submitted digitally in advance. Engineering notebooks will not be accepted the day of. A digital Engineering Notebook must be submitted to qualify for the Excellence Award, Design Award, and Innovate Award. Submission of a PDF of your notebook will be due by Tuesday, March 12th if you want it considered for judging. When you are ready to upload your Engineering Notebook, you may do so at the Engineering Notebook link on Robot Events.

*There are several options for converting paper notebooks to digital.  We suggest using the “image to pdf” converter app or some walk-up copiers also have scan to PDF capabilities.

Note, a digital notebook is not required to get an interview. Every team will receive at least one live interview with judges the day of the competition.

Judge Stations - There will be several judge stations for teams to visit for their interview as it best fits within their schedule.  Judges will not be coming into the pits to conduct interviews.  It will be the responsibility of each team to come to a judging station when they are ready for an interview.  Each team will receive at least one interview.
