General Info

Jay County Jr-Sr High School welcomes you to a fun weekend of competition and excitement!

The event will be located in the Jay County Jr-Sr High School Commons. There will be ample pit room and the ES and MS events will be located in the same area for the conveinence of coaches and parents of students in both divisions.

The ES and MS event will be held in the same, large, area.  This will allow for schools with teams in both divisions to monitor all of their teams in one area.

Match List: 12/15/23 Update:  I have posted a match list.  This is accurate as long as ALL teams check in tomorrow morning.

Skills:  Each event will have their own skills field.  All teams will have 3 attempts at programming and driver skills

Judging:  There will be NO judging at this event.

Concessions: There will be a concession stand on site.  100% of the proceeds will benefits Jay County Robotics and help to fund our competitive initiatives.

Seating:  At this time, there are no dedicated bleachers for spectators.  We suggest bringing lawn chairs.  This is the downside of having the event in this conveinent location.  We have found in the past that people actually enjoy this style of event.

SPECIAL EVENTS FOR THIS TOURNAMENT

We will be having two festive events for this tournament (ES and MS will have winners for each).  All of these mini competitions are aimed at the students.  ANY students on a team is eligible to compete in these two mini competitions.  We will have specific details on 12/16.  Please be sure students who are wanting to be included on this are added to the sign up sheet at check in.

"Crummy Christmas Sweater" Competition - Everyone loves a great "crummy" Christmas sweater!  Wear your best "crummy" Christmas sweater for a chance to take home the trophy!  We will have a special, unique, trophy for the "crummiest" sweater of them all!

The crummy Christmas sweater competition will be judged by a group of "robo people" (parents, VRC students, volunteers and other coaches).  A winner will be chosen based on wearing a Christmas sweater/shirt, "festiveness" and overall "wow".  It is open ended intentionally.  Let's see how wild the holiday spirit can get!

Christmas Cookie Competition - Do you like cookies?  Santa does!  Bring in your best, pre-decorated, cookie.  A squad of robo-parents/mentors will be judging cookies (not for taste, but for how awesome they look).  Don't be shy, go all out with your cookie decorating.  No rules, just cookies!  The winner of this will also get to take home a Christmas themed trophy.

The Christmas cookie competition will be judged by a group of "robo people" (parents, VRC students, volunteers and other coaches).  A winner will be chosen based on having a decorated cookie, "festiveness" and overall "wow".  Cookies will be placed on a labeled plate so we can keep the cookies associated with their proper owner.  It is open ended intentionally.  Let's see how wild the holiday spirit can get!
