General Info

The Tennessee Valley Robotics VIQC 2023-2024: Full VolumeTournament @ Volkswagen Conference Center is a 36 team elementary and middle school combined tournament. All judging interviews will occur, in-person, the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges at check-in. Chick-fil-A lunches will be available as a pre-ordered lunch item for team members and coaches only. No other concessions will be provided. Teams are welcome to bring their own food/drinks. Ten practice fields will be provided for use - 5 for each pit area - additional practice fields will not be allowed in the venue.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

7:30AM - Team check-in and Robot Inspection

8:30AM - Welcome & Driver's Meeting

9:00AM - Skills Challenge: Driving & Programming (All skills challenges will occur during this morning session with 4 fields simultaneously. Teams will be called to fields in team number order to ensure that each team has the same number of opportunities. If necessary, Teamwork Challenge Matches will begin after lunch to allow all teams to participate in 3 driving and 3 programming skills challenges.)

Volunteer

We both want and need volunteers to make this event successful. A link will be made available on our website: https://www.tnvrobotics.org, by September 1, with volunteer sign-up information and procedures. This will allow the necessary time for training/certification to occur for ALL judges and referees. Thank you for considering how you might assist with this event.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If the event must be cancelled due to bad weather or another emergency, every attempt will be made to reschedule the event. If bad weather requires the event to be delayed, but held on the same day, each coach will be notified via email and phone.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

  • $20 will be refunded for each registration.

If the Event Partner postpones the event: 

  • No refunds will be made.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: 

  • Full refunds will be made if the withdrawl occurs no later than Friday, November 4, 2023.

Judging Format
