Welcome to Ely!  We are super excited to have you join us for our Ring of Fire Solar Eclipse Event.  We are going to be seeing the solar eclipse from one of the best viewing sites in the United States.  We are expecting many visitors to our city to see the eclipse.  The city is excited to have you join us.

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

Agenda

8:30-9:00 Arrive at the the Northern Railway Museum to see the eclipse and participate in the activities provided by the city.

9:28 - 9:32 Eclipse reaches totality.  

10:00 - 10:30  Move from the Northern Railway Museum to the Courthouse Park.  Participate in the Punkin' Chunkin/Renaissance Faire that is happening in conjunction with the eclipse.

10:30 - 11:30 Be at the park participating at the Renaissance Faire.

11:30 - Doors open at the Convention Center

11:30 - 12:15 - Lunch/Robot Inspection

12:30 - Opening Ceremonies

12:45 - Matches/Robot Skills Begins

12:45 - 5:00 Run VEX IQ Matches/Skills/Judging

5:00 - Qualification Matches end

5:15 -  Finals Begin

5:45 - Awards Ceremony

In the event of bad weather, we will keep in touch with the progress of the event.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

All registration fees will be refunded.

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

If the cancellation happens prior to September 1, all funds (except the five dollar RECF fee) will be refunded.  After September 1, no refunds will be given.

 

Judging Format

  •  Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. Submission Deadline: October 1.
