General Info

Welcome to Garland ISD's Winter Wonderbots!  Garland plays host to some of the best events in the state, this tournament will be no exception!  We are looking forward to your teams competing in a funfilled atmosphere!

Please read each of the following. Each of these will be adhered to with no expeceptions.

  • All attendees are expected to abide by the code of conduct 

    • Although we don’t expect there to be any violations during the tournament, the EP reserves the right to disqualify any person(s) and ask violaters to leave the premises.

  • All participants are expected to have the participant release form. (Spanish)  on file prior to competing. 

  • Please have all Coaches/Mentors/Chaperones fill out the Pit Allowance pass. Deadline to complete is January 9, 2023. Only adults who have filled out this form will be allowed in the pit area.

    • Only 1 adult per team will be allowed to enter the Pit Area.  Example - if your organization has 5 teams, you can have 5 adults

Only digital notebooks will be accepted for this event through Robot Events.

  • Deadline to submit - January 9, 2023.  Late submissions will not be accepted.

Concessions will be available at the event.

There will not be public practice fields offered at this event. You may bring your own field, however keep in mind that when your team is not using it, it becomes a public practice field. GISD is not responsible for damages.

Agenda

Doors open at 7:00 am

  • Team check-in and Inspection: 7:15 am - 8:00 am

  • Team Meeting: 8:10 am

  • Qualification/Skills Matches: 8:30 am 

  • 12:00 - 12:30 Lunch

  • 12:35 Resume qualifications matches  

  • Finals Matches: 2:00 pm  - 2:30 pm

  • Skills will close approximately 30 minutes before finals begin

  • Awards 2:45 pm - 3:00 pm 

    • Our tournaments normally end between 2:00-2:30

*Please keep in mind that all times are approximate, tournaments can tend to run ahead of schedule.  Tournament schedule is subject to change throughout the duration. We will adhere to the match number rather than match start time.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If tournament is cancelled due to inclement weather, coaches will receive notification via email.

Refund Policy

If there is a cancellation, there will be no refunds.

Judging Format

 Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
