Welcome to A Day at the Mall VEX IQ Tournament!! We are looking forward to an exciting day of competition.
This will be a combined Elementary and Middle school event. Robot Skills, judged awards, and engineering notebook judging will be available. Please turn in the team’s engineering notebook at the inspection table. Teams with a digital engineering notebook must provide a printed hardcopy.
This tournament will be held at the Dulles Town Center Mall, Sterling, VA, lower level, in the former Sears location. Directions: Enter through the “Mall Entrance” to the right of Sheffield Furniture, across from The Cheesecake Factory. You will see “Old Navy” and “Forever 21” signs right above the entrance. Once inside, walk straight down the hallway until you see a set of mall escalators. Turn left and walk straight until the Hair Cosmopolitan store is in front of you. Then, turn right to find the event space; the former Sears Department store.
Unless a payment date/plan has been precoordinated via email with the EP, registration fee must be paid by January 13, 2023, otherwise team will be moved to the waitlist.
We plan to have a small concession stand, offering water and snacks. There are several fast-food restaurants in the mall, including Chick-fil-A and Sbarro pizza. With the number of teams and students we plan to have at this event, we recommend that you pre-order your Chick-fil-A and Sbarro pizza ahead of time. As we get closer to the event, you will receive an email with additional information on ordering ahead.
