General Info

Welcome to our first Vex in the Valley event!  We are so excited to host this fun event.  Registration closes on January 16th with payment due by January 20th for the event.  Teams that are waitlisted will be pulled in if payment is not made in time.

Additional information regarding directions, campus maps, times, and food information will be emailed to registered teams closer to the tournament date.  In the meantime, if you have any questions, please email Jessica Everitt at [email protected].

Code of Conduct

The REC Foundation considers the positive, respectful, and ethical conduct of teams to be an essential component of the competition. Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner, and to operate as student-centered teams with limited adult assistance. This includes all students, teachers, coaches, mentors, parents, and spectators associated with a team.

For more details, please refer to the REC Foundation Code of Conduct and Student-Centered Policy. If you have concerns about compliance with the Code of Conduct, please speak to the Event Partner during the event.

Volunteer

In order to run a successful event, volunteers are needed from all participating teams.  If you are interested/have parents interested in volunteering, please email Jessica Everitt at [email protected].

 

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If the weather is severe enough to warrant cancellation of the event, notices will be sent as soon as possible to all participants.

Refund and Payment Policies

Refunds will only be made if the event is cancelled by Hardin Valley Elementary. Refunds will not include the $5 processing fee assessed by Robot Events for processing. Registrations will not be refunded for teams that register, but choose not to come.

Judging Format

Please review the following Judging Format options and keep the ones that apply to your event, and delete the others that do not apply.

  • All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges.
  • In-Person Engineering Notebooks: Engineering Notebooks will still be submitted in person the day of the event to be evaluated by judges.
  • In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event.
