General Info

Unfortunately, the scrimmage tonight, November 17,  has been cancelled due to a facilities problem at the FAMU DRS. We have rescheduled the scrimmage to the Thursday after the Thanksgiving holiday break, on December 1st.

We apologize for the late notice, but we were literally just informed.

The October 27 scrimmage has been cancelled. So Sorry. But others are still going to be held! This league is for teams that have signed up and paid for the FAMU Slapshot ES&MS VEX IQ Regional Finale. Schools that received kits from the Tallahassee Robotics Association Grant have priority. Other teams may participate if space is available.

Please See Travel Information for exact location. The location alternates between Fairview and FAMU DRS!

Only 20 teams will be accepted for each  Scrimmage. First come, first served. This totals 40 teams that may play in the scrimmagess.   40 teams cann compete in the Finals Tournament in January.

Each team may sign up for 2 scrimmages.  If more than 20 register for the same date, it will be first come, first served.

Before the first scrimmage, participants are expected to complete the participant release form . (also available in Spanish)  Once per season covers all events

Parking is available in the school's parking lot. If lot is full, please park on neighboring streets.

Each scrimmage begins with Team Check-in and Robot Inspection. Teams need to check in by 5:45 PM and robots need to pass inspection by 6:45 PM to be included in the  match schedule.

At Team Check-in for the first ranking session, teams verify that they have uploaded release forms for all team members and sign up to provide one volunteer for at least one Ranking session.

At each first scrimmage, each team will be scheduled for three  Qualifying Matches.

We will have two competition fields and one practice fields at each scrimmage if it is required by the number of teams competing.

The teams coach who is officially listed in robotevents as the primary contact receives all team emails, so read the email titles and content carefully.

All attendees are expected to abide by the code of conduct  .

Note: Ensure your IT does not block emails from robotevents.com and roboticseducation.org

Judging Format

In person interviews will only occur for the Finals Tournament.

Notebooks must be submitted digitally by midnight, Friday, January 27, 2023.  Teams must submit a link to their notebook. This is the only way that notebooks will be accepted.  Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents.

For example, a notebook can be photographed or scanned in, put into a google doc, or on a website, and then the link would be recorded for each team on the sponsor's account page.

Notebooks are not required but make a team eligible for certain awards if well done.

There will be no judging during the scrimmage league, but there will be interviews and judging of Notebooks at the Finale in February. Keep your team's notebook updated during the season, to be well prepared for the Finale.
