General Info

Welcome to the first annual “RiverBots Signature Event”

The War of 1812 also referenced as the “second war of independence” had several major battles across the nation.  A major theatre of the war was the Great Lakes region with a specific emphasis on the River Raisin in modern day Monroe MI. (Trivia note: River Raisin is the only river that legally has River as its first name). The River Raisin National Battlefield Park dedicated to the National Park Registry on October 22, 2010,   sits on the site of some of the largest battles of the war.

This is the first time that a National Park has hosted a VRC and VIQC signature event. Currently we are working on some travel packages including the nearby Splash Universe Waterpark in Dundee MI.  (20-minute drive to event) Battlefield reenactors are planning to join us as judges and other event volunteers. The Visitor center of the battlefield will have displays, showing life in the Midwest before robots. Additionally there are many hotels nearby including Quality Inn and Suites, Holiday Inn Express, and Econo Lodge Inn and Suites. Specific pricing regarding hotels and waterpark are still being determined. Check robotevents as details become available and announced.

Have a VEXellent day

Posted 19Aug 22: The response to this first ever event has been wonderful. The event filled within a few days of posting and the waitlist grew to over 30 teams over a few weeks. This response has caused the event organizers and the venue (River Raisin National Battlefield Park) to reassess the event. The decision made to expand to a two-day event (Friday Dec 16 and Saturday Dec 17) with a capacity of 80 teams.  This is indeed an exciting addition to the event. There is now three World Championship spots, Excellence and Tournament Champions. This response equates to a change of date for Riverbots VIQC Signature event. The event is now Thursday Dec 15, 2022

See you soon for the Battle of the RiverBots.

All approved events and event attendees are required to follow all local, state, federal, or any other government ordinances regarding COVID-19 safety procedures, social distancing, and best hygiene practices.
