General Info

Welcome to the Texas Region 2 Regional Championship for Elementary VIQC!

Please read each of the following:

  • All attendees are expected to abide by the code of conduct 

    • Please make sure that your students, assistant coaches and fans are aware of relevant conduct rules and expectations. 

  • All participants are expected to have the participant release form. (Spanish)  on file prior to competing. 

  • Please have all Coaches/Mentors/Chaperones fill out the Pit Allowance Pass. Deadline to complete is March 4, 2023. Only adults who have filled out this form will be allowed in the pit area.

    • Only 1 adult per team will be allowed to enter the Pit Area.  Example - if your organization has 5 teams, you can have 5 adults

Notebooks will be accepted through Robot Events.

  • Deadline to submit - March 4, 2023.  Late submissions will not be accepted.

Concessions will be available at the event.

Payment is due by March 1, afterwhich teams may be removed for nonpayment.

Tournament schedule is subject to change throughout the duration. We will adhere to the match number rather than match start time.

Volunteer

Volunteers are always appreciated. A tournament does not operate without great volunteers. Individuals wishing to volunteer, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Stacy McGough (skmcgouh@garlandisd.net).

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If tournament is cancelled due to inclement weather, coaches will receive notification via email.

Refund Policy

If there is a cancellation, there will be no refunds.

Health and Safety Policies

A Pit Allowance Pass is required for the safety of all students. The deadline to complete is March 4, 2023.

  • Only adults who have filled out this form will be allowed in the pit area.

  • Only 1 adult per team will be allowed to enter the Pit Area.  Example - if your organization has 5 teams, you can have 5 adults

  • All other attendees will be able to join the public spectator area in the stands.

Buses/cars need to drop off their teams/gear at the back entrance of the building. This is a NO PARKING area. The parking lot for both cars and buses is located behind the loading zone.

Judging Format

 Digital Engineering Notebook Submissions / In Person Team Interviews: Team interviews will be conducted in-person at the event. Engineering notebooks will be submitted digitally for evaluation  via a link found within the "My Account" panel of the team contact on RobotEvents. A submission deadline that may be scheduled ahead of the event date.
