General Info
Congratulations on earning a spot at the 2023 Southern California VEX IQ Elementary School State Championship - EAST LOS ANGELES Event.
***You may register at any site that has space available for the state championship event you qualified for - please read the entire event posting before registering.***
Choose wisely if this is the event you are selecting. Once you register you will NOT be able to move to a different city. You will NOT be refunded your fee, and teams will be moved to the wait list if they have not completed the payment by February 17, 2023. It is your responsibility to make sure that the payments have been processed in time. We will use the visible record of payment on robotevents.com to make the determination.
Event updates will be sent via email to the Team Contacts for your team on RobotEvents.com. Please keep your Team Contacts up-to-date to ensure that you receive them.
Judging will be done Remotely. Digital Engineering Notebooks and Remote Judging Sign-Up Forms will be due by February 17, 2023 or by your Payment Due Date, whichever is later. Details will be in the Remote Judging tab on the event webpage and in event update emails.
Parking is availble in the school's parking garage on Mayflower Ave between E 57th St and E 58th St. If lot is full, please park in neighboring streets. The event will be held in the Gymnasium on the second floor of the building south of the parking garage. Stairs provide main entrance to the gym, but a small elevator is available.
We plan to have four Teamwork competition fields, two Robot Skills competition fields, and eight practice fields.
Teams can set up their own fields in the courtyard outside, but they will need to keep someone at their pit table who can contact them on request and ensure that they do not miss any matches or interviews.
Food and beverages and customizable championship apparel will be available for purchase.

Event Partners will also make every effort to reach teams directly in case of an emergency. Make sure your team contact information is up to date in your robotevents.com account, as this is the information that will be used to contact your team. Teams should make sure their contact information in Robotevents.com includes both school and non-school phone numbers.

Judging Format
Remote Judging: The Team Interviews will be conducted remotely, and Engineering Notebooks will be submitted to judges electronically. Interviews and Notebook submission deadlines will be scheduled ahead of the event date. Additional details will be posted on the Remote Judging tab and sent to registered teams via email.

Important Notes

Teams must submit a Remote Judging Sign-Up Form by the Due Date to be scheduled for a Remote Judging Interview.
- Teams submit coach and alternate contact information with the Sign-Up Form.
- Teams should submit a link for Team Photo with the Sign-Up Form.
- The Team Photo should include students, coaches, mentors, and robot with license plate visible.
- Teams can indicate their schedule preferences for Remote Judging Interviews in 1-hour blocks.
- Teams must submit a Link for Digital Engineering Notebook by the Due Date to qualify for the Excellence Award and Design Award. Teams that created hardcopy notebooks can scan them in and submit them as a PDF or as a Photo Gallery.
- All Remote Judging Interview participants (students and one adult) must complete the online Participant Release Form by the Due Date. You should have already done this for the previous events that your team attended. Any team member who does not have a Participant Release Form on file might not be allowed to participate in a Remote Judging Interview. If the adult team member does not have a Participant Release Form on file, the team might not be allowed to participate in a Remote Judging Interview.
- The Remote Judging Interview Schedule will be available a few days after the Due Date.
