General Info
We invite your teams to participate in the first Northern California VIQC Slapshot Silicon Valley Tournament for Elementary and Middle School students. This tournament is only for rookie teams that have all team members are in their first year of competing in VIQC events. This will be a great opportunity for first year teams to compete in an event and qualify for the next level tournaments.

Please note: all events will receive state championship award bids based on the REC Foundation Qualifying Criteria. As such, this event must meet all requirements for a Qualifying Event to receive bids to the state championship released earlier this year.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
Bad weather should not affect this event. In case of a cancellation, the event partner will contact you as early as possible. Teams should make sure their contact information in Robotevents.com is up to date and includes both school and non-school phone numbers.
Refund and Payment Policies
Teams who have registered but have not paid or submitted a PO 6-weeks prior to the event will be removed from the event unless special arrangement has been made with the Event Partner.
If the event is cancelled, a full event registration (minus $5) refund will be given to all paid teams. Teams are responsible for their own transportation and hotel costs.
Health and Safety Policies
We want to highlight some important updates about the COVID precautions. Due to the rise in Omicron variants, we will be implementing the following precautions for all the upcoming events. These requirements are based on health guidelines highly recommended by the Santa Clara County where the event is taking place.

All participants and guests MUST be fully vaccinated for COVID (2 doses of Moderna, 2 doses of Pfizer, or 1 dose of J&J)

We also strongly recommend taking a booster shot (although we won't be enforcing it) prior to coming to the event.

Official proof of vaccination with your id must be shown to attend the event

Negative COVID test result will NOT be an acceptable option, although based on local conditions we may require this.

Masks must be worn at all times inside the facility

No food or drinks can be consumed inside the event facility

Judging Format
All In-Person Judging - The Team Interviews and Engineering Notebooks will be judged in-person the day of the event. Teams should bring a physical copy of their notebook to submit to the judges
