General Info
The Newton County School System is excited to host this VEX IQ tournament. Students and attendees are sure to have a fun-filled day of robotics competition and we look forward to seeing all of the teams shine! Protocols will be in place to ensure a safe and healthy event. Additional information will be sent prior to the event day, but teams should plan on attendance reductions (for teams and spectators), required masks, and social distancing.

3:30pm – 4:30pm - Check-In/Registration/Inspection
(NOTE: All teams must be through inspection by 4:30pm)
4:00pm - Fields Open for Skills Challenges
(NOTE: Each team will be able to run a maximum of 3 robot (driver) skills challenges and 3 programming challenges. 3 fields will be available for Skills Challenge attempts from 4:00pm – 5:00pm, but only 1 field will be open for skills challenges from 5:15 – 6:15pm. Teams should attempt to finish most of their skills challenges before 5:00pm as the tournament schedule will run quickly and there will not be much time in between matches to fit more in. The Skills Field will close at 6:15pm.
5:00pm – 5:15pm - Drivers Meeting & Welcome
5:15pm – 6:15pm - Skills Field Open

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy
Teams will be notified as early as possible if it is determined that bad weather will cause a change in event-day plans. In the event of a cancellation, every effort will be made to reschedule for a later date. If teams are not able to attend the rescheduled date, entry fee refunds will be issued.
Refund Policy
Refunds will be made to teams up to two weeks prior to the event, provided a written request is submitted (via email) to Tim Schmitt (schmitt.tim@newton.k12.ga.us). Any cancellations inside of the two-week window will not result in a refund.
If the event is rescheduled because of a weather-related event, refunds will be issued to teams that are unable to attend the new date.
