Doors will open at 8:00 a.m.

No individual practice fields will be allowed in the school unless a prior RSVP has been granted.  Email Julie Schmick for approval.

Agenda for VEX IQ Robotics Washington State Championships* (Elementary School and Middle School State Championships Tournaments will be run simultaneously.)

8:00 AM  - Doors Open (no entrance prior to 8:00 am)

8:30 AM - Inspection Opens 

8:30 AM - Skills Opens 

9:00 AM - STEM Project Interviews Begin (assigned times)

10:00 AM - Inspection and team check-in closes. Teams arriving after this nor having passed inspection will not be allowed to play.

10:30 AM - Opening Ceremony / Drivers Meeting (Skills paused during Opening Ceremonies/Drivers Meeting)

10:45 AM - Qualification Matches / Skills Open

12:00-12:30 PM Lunch (Small concessions will be available outside the gym. Outside food may also be brought in.)

2:30 PM - End Qualification Matches / Skills Closes

3:00 PM - Finals Matches

3:45 PM - Awards

4:00 PM - End of Event / Clean-up (please leave Pits clean)

STEM Research

This season the STEM Research Project is presented as a 4-minute video plus 15 seconds of credits that the team records and uploads to SchoolTube, YouTube, or a similar online video platform. A link to the video must be submitted to the Event Partner no later than ONE WEEK BEFORE the tournament date. Follow these steps:

  1. Please refer to the **STEM Research Project and Presentation** document from the REC Foundation. The document can be found in the VEX IQ Challenge Team Resources area at https://www.roboticseducation.org
  2. Record the STEM Presentation as a video following the instructions in the STEM Research Project and Presentation document.
  3. Upload the video to one of the online video resources following the instructions in the STEM Research Project and Presentation document.
  4. Have the coach or another adult submit the link to the video using the online form below, including the team number and contact information for the coach.  Submissions must be received no later than ONE WEEK BEFORE the tournament date (Saturday 2/22/20 at 11:59pm Pacific Time).   No submissions will be accepted after that day and time.

  5. Teams WILL NOT be interviewed by judges at the event, unless the event qualifies teams directly to VEX Worlds. Please refer to the STEM Research Project and Presentation document for details.
  6. Only ONE submission allowed per team. If two or more video links are sent to the Event Partner, only the first link received will be considered.
  7. The winner of the STEM Research Project Award will be announced with the other judged awards at the event.
