General Info

This league is primarily for teams from schools in LAUSD Local District South. This league will be meeting in the Girls Gym at Samuel "Glorious" Gompers Middle School. Parking is available in the lot off the San Pedro entrance. The girls gym is located on campus just west of the parking lot. Additional parking is available in the parking lot on 112th St, across from the administration building.

The first Qualifying session begins with Team Check-in and Robot Inspection. At Check-in, teams turn in release forms and checks and sign up to provide one volunteer for at least one league session if they did not do so at Coach Orientation. One Teamwork Challenge Practice Match for each team will be followed by several Teamwork Challenge Qualifying Matches.

The next three Qualifying sessions begin with Check-in and Robot Inspection, followed by several Teamwork Challenge Qualifying Matches.

The final session is the Championship session. At Check-in, teams will turn in their Engineering Notebooks. Robot Inspection is followed by Skills Challenge Matches and Robot Design Judging, followed by Finals Matches and Awards.

For each session, teams need to check in by 4:00 PM and robots need to pass inspection by 4:15 PM to be included in the Teamwork Challenge match schedule.

Teams will sign up to provide at least one volunteer for at least one session. See the Volunteer tab for details.

We will have two competition fields and two practice fields at each session.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Volunteer

The league needs four trained volunteers that can attend all sessions

  • 1 Emcee, 2 Referees, 1 Computer Operator

Each team is asked to provide at least one volunteer for at least one session:

  • 2 Check-in, Queue Crew,  (one adult, one can be student)
  • 1 Field Reset (student)
  • 1 Practice Field Official (adult)
  • 2 Robot Design Judges (adults, Championship Session only)

Volunteers can be scheduled at the Coach Orientation or at the first League Session.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

If any session has to be cancelled, we will offer an additional session.

The event partner will contact teams if the event must be postponed. Teams should make sure their contact information is up to date on RobotEvents.com and includes both school and non-school phone numbers.

Refund Policy

Full refunds minus the $5.00 processing fee will be available until one week before the first session. After that, refunds based on special circumstances may be made at the discretion of the Event Partner.
