Skills Only Tournament Dates:  Monday, January 24 - Saturday, January 29

This tournament will be held in the Robotics Room (T107) in the Tech Wing of West Vancouver Secondary School.

Please see the AGENDA tab for the schedule, and check often in case of updates.

Due to COVID-19 policies and procedures, only student participants, their mentor / coach / teacher, and volunteers, are allowed inside the venue. No spectators please.

For payment, please bring a check to the event payable to "West Vancouver Schools SD45 - Robotics"  for the appropriate amount.

Tournament Dates: Week of Jan 24 - 29, 2021

NOTE: Due to COVID-19 policies and procedures, only student participants, their mentor / coach / teacher, and volunteers, are allowed inside the venue. No spectators please.

To give everyone an opportunity to do their Skills runs,we have provided several choices for you to choose from.

Mon, Jan 24        3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Tue, Jan 25         4:15 pm - 5:00 pm

Wed, Jan 26       3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Thurs, Jan 27     4:15 pm - 5:30 pm

Sat, Jan 29:        1:30 pm - 5:00 pm

We will allocate a 15-minute time slot for teams doing only Driver Skills (3 runs), and a 30-minute time slot for teams doing both Driver and Programming Skills (3 runs for each).  This time period (15 mins, or 30 mins) includes the time for Robot Inspection, so please be aware of that. Please see the Robot Inspection Checklist and make sure your robot meets all the criteria before coming to the event. 

For non-Ten Ton Robotics teams, a 15 or 30 minute time slot on Saturday, Jan 29, will be a good choice. 

Please email Dr. Chugani (mchugaani@wvschools) before midnight on Sunday, January 23 (or sooner if possible), which day / time is preferable for you. The following slots are already taken:

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In case of an incident or circumstance effecting this event, The event partner will undertake three notification strategies.

  1. An advisory describing the situation (e.g. inclement weather) and the action being taken (e.g. event cancellation) will be posted to this RobotEvents event listing under this tab.  
  2. The same information will also be e-mailed to all registered team coaches. Make sure your contact information is upto date in Robot Events.
  3. Teams can contact the school directly (604-981-1100) ask for Mr Ablett or Dr. Chugani

Refund Policy

Refunds are available to teams that cancel one week before the event.

If less than one week to the event date refunds will be made on a case by case basis.

If you are cancelling with less than 1 week's notice and if another team can fill the orginal teams spot, then a full refund should  be available.

Health and Safety Policies

We will be following Ministry of Health and West Vancouver School District COVID-19 guidelines, in place at the time of the competition.

[2] All attendees who are not from West Vancouver Schools are required to complete the West Vancouver Schools Premier Robotics Program  Visitors Sign In and Daily Health Check Questionnaire prior to entry into the building. As we get closer to the event, this page will be updated to the best practices we have in place at this time.

While at the event:.

  • Please try to maintain physical spacing where possible.
  • There will be hand sanitizer stations (but bring your own too).
  • No spectator seating.
  • Masks will be required indoors at all times.
  • Lunches will not be available from the school like in the past. Please bring your own lunch. No eating in pit area.
  • Please bring your own equipment to run your robot.
