General Info

Please read all information carefully, as NO refunds will be made for teams that sign up and once paid.  *See refund policy.*

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we are limiting our event to 32 teams.  Also, each team will be limited to just participating student team members and teacher(s)/coach(es)/adult(s).  Each person will receive a wristband in their registration packet, that must be worn at all times in order to enter and participate in our tournament.

Concession Stand will be available on SATURDAY, JANUARY 22 from 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM.  In addition to meals, an assortment of snacks, desserts, and drinks (water, juice, soda) will be available for purchase all day throughout the competition.

In Summary:

-Teams must be registered for the 2021-2022 season before registering for the event. 

-5 entries MAX per Hawaii organization.

-Each team is allowed a maximum of 5 participants to include both students and/or adults.

-This event will qualify teams for the 2022 Hawaii State Championships. (Number of state spots to be determined in early October)

Reminders

  1. Please supervise all team members; we are guests of Hanalani Schools.  Teams are restricted to the Event area. 

  2. There should be no running in the pit or tournament areas.  Please be careful about creating tripping hazards with packing crates, etc.

  3. Please keep the pit area clean.

  4. Charging tables will be available; bring your own power strip and extension cord.

  5. Please do not bring your own VEX field game set unless you were requested/confirmed to do so.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

 

The event will not be canceled due to bad weather except for a declared state or federal emergency.  No refunds will be given to teams who do not attend due to bad weather.

The event partner will contact teams if the event must be canceled or postponed. Teams should make sure their contact information is up to date and includes both school and non-school phone numbers.

Refund Policy

 

Once a team signs up and registration is paid, no refunds will be given.  Teams must make payment prior to the event and will not be allowed to compete if payment has not been received.

We are able to take cash/check on the day of the event prior to team check in. If your team would like to do this, please send us a courtesy email to the event coordinator, Mr. Justin De Lizo, at jdelizo@hanalani.org prior to the payment deadline.  Checks can be made payable to "Hanalani Schools."

Health and Safety Policies

  • Only members of the team and coaches are allowed to be present.  Parents may drop students off, but may not stay on campus.
  • All participants will fill out a health survey before they arrive on campus for the tournament.  The link will be provided prior to the event.
  • All participants must wear masks during the entire event unless actively eating or drinking outside of the gym.  Only water is allowed inside.
  • The pits will be spaced out as wide as can be for the number of teams that are present.  Please do your best to keep your teams distant from other teams.

Travel Info

The tournament will be held in the Student Activity Center of Hanalani Schools.   This includes the pits, competition and practice fields, the judges’ room, and restrooms.  The concession stand will also be right outside of the gym and designated eating areas outside will be provided.
