Welcome to the Southern Maryland VEX IQ Tournament. This event is hosted by the Great Mills High School Engineering Club and supports student activities, including VEX EDR.
This is a Maryland State Qualifying event open to elementary and middle schools. This event is open to the public. The event takes place in the GMHS Cafeteria. The pit area is on the upper level of the cafeteria. Competition tables are on the lower level of the cafeteria. Parking is available in the GMHS parking lot. Enter the main entrance and follow signage to the cafeteria.
During the Tournament, teams will have a minimum of three opportunities to participate in both Driving Skills and Programming Skills Challenges in addition to tournament matches.
In the Pit area there will be a minimum of two practice fields. It is expected that teams practice good sportsmanship in sharing the fields and making sure scoring elements are replaced when a team finishes a practice round.
