Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

This tournament will be played outdoors, so weather is very much a factor in a successful tournament.

If you are farmiliar with the San Luis Obispo Valley, you know that rain and/or bad weather are incredibly rare, and the changes that this event will get cancelled for weather are very slight.

In the case of bad weather conditions or possible cancellations, please visit the event on Robotevents.com where updates about the event status will be posted as needed. In case of an emergency, we will individually reach out to all teams using any contact information required.  Teams should make sure their contact information in Robotevents.com is up to date and includes both school and non-school phone numbers and email address.

In the event that COVID-19 makes the tournament impractical or unsafe, all teams will be notified and their registration fees refunded (less the $5 processing fee from robotevents)

In the event of an emergency during the event (for example, a fire), the facility's emergency procedures will be followed and everyone will be safely evacuated.

Refund Policy

Refunds are not typically issued for our events

However if you have a special case that you would like to discuss, you may contact me at ben@studentroboticseducation.com, and we’ll work something out together.

Location

Park

This tournament will be held at Johnson park in San Luis Obispo, CA

This park is situated between the local YMCA and the swimming pool (which is good - there are no residential neiborhoods that we will disturb)

While students are welcome to visit either facility after the tournament, students MUST remain in johnson park during the competition.

There is a nice play structure that kids are welcome to play on, provided they follow masking and social distancing guidelines.

Power

Due to this location, we have a limited amount of power availible for running the tournament manager system and charging batteries.

Teams will only be premitted to charge batteries using the provided electricity (this electricity will not be used for other things), so please plan accordingly.
