The All-Catholic Squared Away Invitational VEX IQ Tournament is a qualifing event for the 2019-2020 VIQC game Squared Away. The tournament will start with a prayer and the venue will close to go to mass during the tournament.
***This is an invitational event that is open to all Catholic school VEX IQ teams in a California diocese. Students do not need to be Catholic but they must be on a team from a Catholic school.***
In order to register your Catholic school VEX IQ team, please add your team to the waitlist and you will be contacted by the event partner with further instructions.
It is expected that at least one full day volunteer will be provided per team. Teams will be contacted with the volunteer signup form prior to the event.
STEM Presentation submission deadline is 11/15/19. Teams will be contacted with the submission form prior to the event.
7:30am Doors open for volunteers
7:45am Registration & Inspection Begins, Pits open, Practice Fields Open, Skills Fields Open
8:45am Inspection closes, Opening/Event Meeting *Teams not registered with their robots inspected by 8:55 will be removed from the match list*
8:50 Group together to head to mass all students, mentors, families and spectators are invited
8:55am Venue closed to go to Mass
10:15am Venue opens back up
10:30am Qualification matches begin
12:15-1:15 Lunch break
3:45pm Qualification matches finish, and skills events close
4:00pm Elimination matches begin
5:00pm Awards Ceremony
5:30pm Competition event closes
Volunteers will be needed for event setup and teardown, robot inspection, reset, judging, and other positions. It is expected that at least one full day volunteer will be provided per team. Teams will be contacted with the volunteer signup form prior to the event. Please contact Debbi Salom at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
In the case of bad weather conditions or possible cancellations, please visit the event on Robotevents.com where updates about the event status will be posted as needed. Please make sure your team's contact information is up to date in your RobotEvents.com account in the event we need to contact your team.
Event payments are expected when you register for this event and must be completed (showing PAID in the system) a minimum of 1 week prior to the event date. Unpaid teams will be removed from the event, allowing space for teams on the wait list. No refunds will be made once a team is marked PAID in the system. Multiple hotels can be found near the event site, if you are traveling from a distance and need accommodations. If you need any other assistance please contact the event partner.
A livestream of our event will be available on St. Catherine's YouTube channel.
This season the STEM Research Project is presented as a 4-minute video plus 15 seconds of credits that the team records and uploads to SchoolTube, YouTube, or a similar online video platform. A link to the video must be submitted to the Event Partner no later than ONE WEEK BEFORE the tournament date. Follow these steps:
