STEM Research

This season the STEM Research Project is presented as a 4-minute video plus 15 seconds of credits that the team records and uploads to SchoolTube, YouTube, or a similar online video platform. A link to the video must be submitted to the Event Partner no later than ONE WEEK BEFORE the tournament date. Follow these steps:

  1. Please refer to the **STEM Research Project and Presentation** document from the REC Foundation. The document can be found in the VEX IQ Challenge Team Resources area at https://www.roboticseducation.org
  2. Record the STEM Presentation as a video following the instructions in the STEM Research Project and Presentation document.
  3. Upload the video to one of the online video resources following the instructions in the STEM Research Project and Presentation document.
  4. Have the coach or another adult email the link to the video, including the team number and contact information for the coach, to the Event Partner no later than ONE WEEK BEFORE the tournament date:

  5. Teams WILL NOT be interviewed by judges at the event, unless the event qualifies teams directly to VEX Worlds. Please refer to the STEM Research Project and Presentation document for details.
  6. Only ONE submission allowed per team. If two or more video links are sent to the Event Partner, only the first link received will be considered.
  7. The winner of the STEM Research Project Award will be announced with the other judged awards at the event.

Refund Policy

 

No refunds are available after October 1, 2019.  Teams that have not paid by October 1st will be moved to the waiting list.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

League events will be rescheduled if weather is an issue.

In the case of bad weather conditions or possible cancellations, please visit the event on Robotevents.com where updates about the event status will be posted as needed. Event Partners will also make every effort to reach teams directly in case of an emergency.   Make sure your team contact information is up to date in your robotevents.com account, as this is the information that will be used to contact your team.

General Info

Welcome to the California High Desert VEX IQ Challenge League East (ELEM ONLY).   The event takes place in Hesperia, Ca. We will be hosting a maximum of 24 elementary teams in our league.  This elementary league includes one practice event followed by three league events. The last event will include both the regular league event and the championship, which determines the league winners. Teams must participate in the three league events to qualify for state.

The STEM Research Project is being offer at this event and is optional for teams. All STEM projects are video submission only and there will be no in person interviews at any event. Teams need to contact the Event Partner for the submission deadline and email address to send the link to video submissions.
