On-site parking will be available for minibuses. We will have more information on this matter being sent to registered teams in October - November.
This event is free for teams to attend; a refund policy is not required.
The following information is subject to change. The finalised Emergency/Bad Weather Policy will be published by the 1st of December.
We will try our best to ensure the event proceeds, regardless of weather or other ongoing situations. However, in the unlikely instance that weather prevents travel (e.g. dangerous roads) or an 'emergency' occurs the event may be postponed or cancelled, dependant on the situation.
Volunteering at VEX events is a rewarding, exciting and engaging experience that is greatly appreciated by organising staff and all competitors. If you're free from 9 AM to 4 PM on Wednesday the 18th of December 2019, please consider signing up and offering your support. We're looking for anyone and everyone regardless of their experience to lend a hand at the event.
Attending the event already as apart of the team? Please ensure you reset the field after each match, it is really appreciated and will ensure that games are always running on time!
Please understand that these times are scheduled to change as we approach the date of the event. The event will be running no earlier than 9:00 AM to no later than 16:00 PM, regardless of any changes, however.
Grade Level: All
Robot Skills Challenge Offered: Yes
STEM Research Offered: No
Additional Contact Information:
Email is the preferred method of contact, please try to email us before you call, as our phone availability is dependant on when St Helena School's reception is open.
In one of the last competitions hosted in the Autumn term before the Christmas holidays, there'll be up to 30 teams competing for awards and a place at the UK 2020 National Championships. Meet dozens of students and compete with them in your Teamwork Challenge matches, and show off your driver control and programming skills through our Skills Challenge matches being run throughout the day. It will be a brilliant way to kickstart the festivities if you haven't already!
For the best experience, we're looking to utilise 6-8 game fields on the day. We won't be able to provide all of the game fields ourselves, so if you have a game field and the elements, please do bring them along with you if it's possible to do so. Your efforts will be greatly appreciated and they'll go towards making the event extra special. Thank you.
