STEM Research Project 2019-2020

 

STEM Research

This season the STEM Research Project is presented as a 4-minute video plus 15 seconds of credits that the team records and uploads to SchoolTube, YouTube, or a similar online video platform. A link to the video must be submitted to the Event Partner no later than ONE WEEK BEFORE the tournament date. Follow these steps:

  1. Please refer to the **STEM Research Project and Presentation** document from the REC Foundation. The document can be found in the VEX IQ Challenge Team Resources area at https://www.roboticseducation.org
  2. Record the STEM Presentation as a video following the instructions in the STEM Research Project and Presentation document.
  3. Upload the video to one of the online video resources following the instructions in the STEM Research Project and Presentation document.
  4. Have the coach or another adult email the link to the video, including the team number and contact information for the coach, to the Event Partner no later than 30 November 2019:

  5. Top 5 teams will be interviewed by judges at the event. Please refer to the STEM Research Project and Presentation document for details.
  6. Only ONE submission allowed per team. If two or more video links are sent to the Event Partner, only the first link received will be considered.
  7. The winner of the STEM Research Project Award will be announced with the other judged awards at the event.

We recommend that teams make use of early check-in and inspection on Friday afternoon, if at all possible.

Each registered team will receive 1 free parking pass upon check-in.

Refund Policy

Teams will get a full refund if registration is cancelled before 2 December  2019.
No refunds will be given after this date

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

We will endeavour to send registered teams an email if event is cancelled due to unforseen weather events

Volunteer

We will need a team of dedicated volunteers to make this event happen.

Central Robotics and Kiwibots are proud to present the 2019 New Zealand VIQC National Championship.

This will be a 2 day event (Saturday 7 Dec, and Sunday 8 Dec) with early check in/inspection available Friday afternoon.

Team Fee (New Zealand Dollar)
Full Registration Fee NZ$150
Registration for team that brings complete field and Squared Away Game Elements NZ $100
Registration for team that brings a volunteer for the event (2 days) NZ $100

NOTE:
Teams are responsible for setting up the field on Friday 6 December
Only one discounted fee available per team.
One school/organisation can have mulitple discounts.
Examples:
A school that brings 4 volunteers and has 4 teams pays NZ$400
A school that brings 1 field+elements and has 4 teams pays NZ$550
