STEM Research

This season the STEM Research Project is presented as a 4-minute video plus 15 seconds of credits that the team records and uploads to SchoolTube, YouTube, or a similar online video platform. A link to the video must be submitted to the Event Partner no later than ONE WEEK BEFORE the tournament date. Follow these steps:

  1. Please refer to the **STEM Research Project and Presentation** document from the REC Foundation. The document can be found in the VEX IQ Challenge Team Resources area at https://www.roboticseducation.org
  2. Record the STEM Presentation as a video following the instructions in the STEM Research Project and Presentation document.
  3. Upload the video to one of the online video resources following the instructions in the STEM Research Project and Presentation document.
  4. Have the coach or another adult email the link to the video, including the team number and contact information for the coach, to the Event Partner no later than ONE WEEK BEFORE the tournament date:

  5. Teams WILL NOT be interviewed by judges at the event, unless the event qualifies teams directly to VEX Worlds. Please refer to the STEM Research Project and Presentation document for details.
  6. Only ONE submission allowed per team. If two or more video links are sent to the Event Partner, only the first link received will be considered.
  7. The winner of the STEM Research Project Award will be announced with the other judged awards at the event.

Refund Policy

Event payments are expected when you register for the event and must be completed 2  weeks prior to the event date. Please contact me if there are considerations to be made. All requests for refunds must be made 2  weeks prior to the event. Refunds if approved will be processed ASAP following the event.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In case of bad weather conditions or possible cancellations please visit the event on Robotevents.com where I will post updates about the event status as needed. Should inclement weather make it impossible to travel; please contact Peggy Pollitt via email as soon as possible. If the weather looks bleak, please check your email before leaving for the event. Please feel free to contact me via email if you are going to be late to the event or unable to attend at all.

We welcome volunteers for our event. If you would like to volunteer, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator, Ryan Thomas at rthomas@valpo.k12.in.us. We are looking for Queuing, Referees, and field re-set.

This is an Official Indiana VEX IQ State Qualifying Event! 

If you register a team(s) and then decide not to participate, please email me ASAP! 

Concessions will be available for snacks. You are welcome to bring your own lunch.

A completed consent form for all participants must be turned in during check-in. Team leaders will need to collect the completed forms for all team members attending the event and turn them into the registration desk when checking in.

All payments for entry fees MUST be in advance. Payments not accepted at the door.
