STEM Research Topic: Science 2019-2020

 

STEM Research

This season the STEM Research Project is presented as a 4-minute video plus 15 seconds of credits that the team records and uploads to SchoolTube, YouTube, or a similar online video platform. A link to the video must be submitted to the Event Partner no later than ONE WEEK BEFORE the tournament date. Follow these steps:

  1. Please refer to the **STEM Research Project and Presentation** document from the REC Foundation. The document can be found in the VEX IQ Challenge Team Resources area at https://www.roboticseducation.org
  2. Record the STEM Presentation as a video following the instructions in the STEM Research Project and Presentation document.
  3. Upload the video to one of the online video resources following the instructions in the STEM Research Project and Presentation document.
  4. Have the coach or another adult email the link to the video, including the team number and contact information for the coach, to the Event Partner no later than ONE WEEK BEFORE the tournament date:

  5. Teams WILL NOT be interviewed by judges at the event, unless the event qualifies teams directly to VEX Worlds. Please refer to the STEM Research Project and Presentation document for details.
  6. Only ONE submission allowed per team. If two or more video links are sent to the Event Partner, only the first link received will be considered.
  7. The winner of the STEM Research Project Award will be announced with the other judged awards at the event.

Refund Policy

1. There is a bad weather date of Sunday, March 8TH  If the event is moved to the bad weather date no refunds will be given to teams that are unable to attend.
2. If the event is canceled team registration fee minus Event Partners expenses will be refunded.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of bad Weather  changes to the schedule will be emailed to team contacts

 

Options

1 Event opening may be delayed to allow for travel.

2. Event may be moved to posted bad weather date.

3. Event may be canceled due to the weather.

 

Announcements will go out by 6:00 am.  all teams are encouraged to use their best judgment when deciding to attend.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

STEM Research Project Award

Teams will forward online video submission information to the event partner at least two weeks

prior to the Competition. This will include your team number and the YouTube URL to the

video. Event Partners will post instructions for submitting URLs as part of the event posting on

Robotevents.com. Instructions on posting videos is available on the STEM Project Presentation

for this year.

The Deadline for posting projects and sending the link to Gregory Kane at gkane@aol.com is as
