STEM Research

This season the STEM Research Project is presented as a 4-minute video plus 15 seconds of credits that the team records and uploads to SchoolTube, YouTube, or a similar online video platform. A link to the video must be submitted to the Event Partner no later than ONE WEEK BEFORE the tournament date. Follow these steps:

  1. Please refer to the **STEM Research Project and Presentation** document from the REC Foundation. The document can be found in the VEX IQ Challenge Team Resources area at https://www.roboticseducation.org
  2. Record the STEM Presentation as a video following the instructions in the STEM Research Project and Presentation document.
  3. Upload the video to one of the online video resources following the instructions in the STEM Research Project and Presentation document.
  4. Have the coach or another adult email the link to the video, including the team number and contact information for the coach, to the Event Partner no later than ONE WEEK BEFORE the tournament date:

  5. Teams WILL NOT be interviewed by judges at the event, unless the event qualifies teams directly to VEX Worlds. Please refer to the STEM Research Project and Presentation document for details.
  6. Only ONE submission allowed per team. If two or more video links are sent to the Event Partner, only the first link received will be considered.
  7. The winner of the STEM Research Project Award will be announced with the other judged awards at the event.

In case of bad weather the February 15th Championship will meet on February 22nd and combine STEM, Design, and Skill Awards.

General Info

Hang on for a fun, filled league of VEX IQ Squared Away challenge!  We want to invite and welcome any and all elementary and middle school teams from around Central Indiana to put your skills to the test.  This will be an opportunity for your teams to qualify for the Indiana State Championship.

Thursday, December 12th 5:30 - 7:30

Thursday, January 9th 5:30 - 7:30

Thursday, January 30th 5:30 - 7:30

FINALS: 

Saturday, February 15th from 8:30 am-1:30 pm Teamwork Finals and Champions

Saturday, February 22nd from 8:30 - 1:00 STEM, Design, and Skills with Champions named and awarded.  THis will also serve as the alternate date in case of weather closure for the Teamwork FInals.

 

We have a no refund policy. Payment must be received prior to the beginning date of the league.  Otherwise your team may be dropped from the event.

Teamwork championships will be held on Saturday, February 15thIn case of weather cancellation Teamwork Championships will be held on February 22nd along with STEM, Design, and Skills Awards.

STEM, Design, and Skills will be awarded at the Saturday, February 22nd League event only. 

Teams will meet on Thursday evenings from 5:30 - 7:30 pm.  Final Teamwork Champions will compete on Saturday, February 15th from 9 - 12pm. Finally, we will need all teams on site no later than 8:30AM on the two Saturdays of the League Championships.   We plan to get the competetion rolling no later than 9:15AM.  If you are having difficulty getting to the event on Saturday morning, please call me at (317) 873-2869.  Teams that have not arrived, or called me by 8:30AM will be dropped from the event.
