Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In case of INCLEMENT WEATHER (as determined by the St Vrain Valley School District) the tournament will be postponed and moved to an alternate date (likely March 9th).

General Info

Teams that have won qualifying awards at 2017-2018 events will compete for an invitation to compete at Worlds.

The Colorado VEX IQ State Championship, MIddle School Division has been granted a total of 3 VEX IQ World Championship spots:

  • Elementary Excellence Award = 1 spot
  • Teamwork Champions = 2 spots

NOTE:  World Championship qualifying awards and invitations are issued to teams whether or not the teams have expressed an intention to attend the event. Unaccepted World Championship invitations are not offered or transferred to other teams.

Additional information: 

STEM Research:  The Colorado Middle School VIQ State Championship will be offering the STEM Research project award.  Teams that wish to participate may submit their entry by uploading it to YouTube.  Instructions on how to do this are located at this link.

Please note that there is only one entry per team allowed.  Additionally, the submission deadline is end-of-day, February 22.  Once you have uploaded your video to YouTube, please email the video URL to the tournament judge advisor (email listed below).

Double-Qualification:  If a team double-qualifies for a World Championship spot, the state’s next highest ranking team from the World Skills Standings up to and including the State Championship receives the invitation. World Championship invitations from the World Skills Standings are issued by email after the results of the State Championship have been posted at robotevents.com, and will not be announced at the State Championship.
