STEM Presentation

This season the STEM Research Project is presented as a 4-minute video that the team records and uploads to YouTube.

A link to the video must be submitted to the Event Partner no later than FRIDAY JAN 25th MIDNIGHT CST to be considered.

Follow these steps: 

  • Click here for the STEM Research Project and Presentation information from the REC Foundation. 
  • Record the STEM Presentation as a 4-minute video.
  • Upload the video to YouTube, click here for instructions from Google. 
  • Have the coach or another adult email the YouTube link, including the team number and contact information for the coach, to the Event Partner TWO WEEKS BEFORE the tournament date: Aaron Barker, abarker@sctcc.edu
  • Teams WILL NOT be interviewed by judges before or during the event. The only material considered for the STEM Presentation award is the 4-minute video.  
  • Only ONE submission per team. If two or more video links are sent to the Event Partner, only the first link sent will be considered.
  • The winner of the STEM Research Project Award will be announced with the other judged awards at the event.

Minnesota VEX IQ – Elementary School has been granted 5 World Championship spots:

If a team double-qualifies for a World Championship spot, the state’s next highest ranking team from the World Skills Standings up to and including the State Championship receives the invitation. World Championship invitations from the World Skills Standings are offered after the results of the State Championship have been posted at robotevents.com, and will not be announced at the State Championship.

World Championship qualifying awards and invitations are issued to teams whether or not the teams have expressed an intention to attend the event. Unaccepted World Championship invitations are not offered or transferred to other teams.

This is Minnesota's State Championship for IQ Elementary School teams. This event is the largest event in Minnesota, with teams from high school, middle school, and elementary school competing under one roof.

 

Note: To be eligible for the Excellence Award at World Championship, a team must have won the Excellence Award at a State or Regional Championship and must submit their Engineering Notebook at Worlds.
