Refund Policy

 

Refunds will be granted in extreme cases only.

All requests for refunds must be made 3 weeks prior to the event. Refunds if approved will be processed within 1 month following the event.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

 

In case of bad weather conditions or possible cancellations please visit the event on Robotevents.com where I will post updates about the event status as needed. Please feel free to contact me by phone if you are going to be late to the event. Match Lists will be generated as scheduled and cannot be re-run.

Volunteer

Get Inspired and Have Fun! Be a part of the excitement by joining a team of volunteers who help in a variety of ways to make this event a success for the students involved.

Experience level: No previous experience is needed for most volunteer positions, and you can even bring your kids for a family activity (for example, Field Resetter is an ideal position for young children). 

Time Commitment: You can register for an entire day, or just a portion of the day as your schedule permits for most positions. 

Meals: Lunch is included for volunteers.

Volunteer Positions Needed: 

  • Judges (no previous experience required – all day commitment)

    • Evaluate student teams through interviews, Engineering Notebooks, multi-media presentations, and on the field performance. Present awards as needed.

  • Referee (previous experience required – all day commitment)
    • On-field officials closely watch the competition to ensure that competition rules are followed. Arbitrate disputes and validate match scores.
  • Scorekeepers (previous experience not required – all day commitment)
    • Record official scores using the designated tablet.
  • Skills Referee
    • ​Oversee Skills Challenge area and act in a referee role to interpret and enforce the rules of the game and score the skills challenge run upon completion. Record scores using Tournament Manager Mobile.
  • Queue Crew
    • Assist field managers and Head Ref with staging teams for upcoming matches.
  • Field Resetters (no previous experience required)
    • Accurately reset the competition field after each match and assist the Field Manager or Head Referee as needed.
  • Pit Admin Assistant/Team Checkin
    • Serve in a customer service role by assisting teams and guests with competition and venue related questions.

General Info

Shortridge High School is excited to host another season of VEX IQ tournaments.  This is a Middle School event only.  The event will take place in the new gymnasium on the Shortridge High School campus.

 

Event payments are expected when you register for the event and must be completed 2 weeks prior to the event date. We will not be accepting any payment at the door.  Unpaid teams will be removed from the event to allow teams on the wait list to register. Please contact me if there are considerations to be made.

 

We will hold a pizza sale and consessions will be available, there are a few restauraunts nearby, Subway, McDonalds, Burger King and Rallys.
