Event Description

The VEX Robotics World Championship, presented by the Northrop Grumman Foundation, brings together the top VEX Robotics teams from around the globe to celebrate their accomplishments and participate to be crowned champions.

VEX GO teams are invited to join the celebration this year with the first, ever, VEX GO Showcase event. Teams will create their exhibit space (Science Fair Style) and demonstrate what they are learning with VEX 123, VEX GO, the VEX GO Competition, and VEX STEM Labs and Activities. Visitors to the VEX GO Showcase area will be amazed to see what is possible when VEX is integrated into the classroom and  "STEM starts Early!"

Preparing your VEX GO Exhibit

  1. Select one of your favorite STEM Lab units, such as Robot Jobs, Parade Float, or any of the other great STEM Labs found at education.vex.com
  2. Plan your presentation and what information you want to display on your tri-fold board.
  3. Keep it simple, neat and organized.
  4. Start with a powerful title. You want to grab the visitors' attention. ...
  5. Use your imagination and make it attractive. Use pictures, 3-D objects, colors, graphs, charts or illustrations to draw in your audience.
  6. Know your facts. ...
  7. Practice and review.

 

Volunteer Information

Have the time of your life by volunteering at the Girl Powered and VEX GO Showcase Booth at the 2022 VEX Worlds Championships.

Volunteers should be age 13 and up. No previous experience is necessary.

Roles will include:

Monitoring a hands-on GO activity station to make sure that children are taking turns, understand instructions, and clean up their space for the next participant.

Monitoring the VEX GO Competition Fields, assisting students with connecting the tablet to the robot, timing and scoring a match, recording scores on a leaderboard. 

Volunteers will receive a T-shirt, snacks, and meals, depending on the shifts worked.

Spectator Information

The VEX Robotics World Championship is free and open to the public. This lively and engaging event is suitable for the entire family. Before entering the event, we ask that you check in with REC Foundation staff to be allowed access to the venue. Once you check in, spectators are welcome to attend the ceremonies, watch matches, visit with teams in the pit area, and explore the exhibitor space.
