VEX GO Challenge (VGOC) Program - Level Up!
The VGOC program is a classroom based challenge that provides young students with the opportunity to extend their learning through participation in multi-level challenges, set personal achievement goals, and to Showcase their learning as part of the K-College VEX Continuum.
Now, with the VEX GO Challenge, students are introduced to the world of competitive robotics by participating in both individual and classroom challenges that are tailor-made for elementary students.
The Robotics Education & Competition Foundation’s mission is to increase student interest and involvement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) by engaging students in hands-on, affordable, and sustainable robotics engineering programs. The VEX GO Challenge (VGOC) provides students with open-ended challenges allowing them to track their progress, set and achieve personal goals, and apply the engineering design process in a creative way.
How it Works (VGOC)
VEX GO Teams are presented with a variety of challenges with the goals of having unique designs, best run time, and a creative approach to problem solving.
1.Students complete the VEX GO STEM Labs and Activities as assigned by their teacher. http://education.vex.com
2.Teachers register their classroom teams at robotevents.com to “unlock” the season challenges. The challenges are an extension to those found in the STEM Labs and Activities allowing students to apply their learning with new and exciting challenges.
3.Teams may enter one or more of the 4 Levels of challenges.
4. Upon completion of each Level, teams receive “Star Points” which accumulate throughout the season and allow teams to set personal goals for earning Achievement Awards.
Upon completion of Level 1, teams will submit a link to a photo or short video of their work. In order to advance to Level 2, teams must earn a minimum of 15 Star Ranking Points, but may complete more STEM Lab Units to reach higher Achievement Levels.
Achievement Levels |
Star Ranking Points |
Take Off Award |
1-24 Stars |
Orbit Award |

Upon completion of the Level 1 Challenge, the teacher can log in to robotevents.com and submit the team’s answers to the challenge. This evidence of completion can be submitted in the form of photographs, video, or scanned documents.
Each Team will earn a Digital Badge for the successful completion of each Level of the VEX GO Challenge.
(Digital Badges can be printed as stickers or made into buttons.)
Teams may receive Achievement Award Certificates based on the number of Star Points they earn within the challenges.
Digital Badges and Achievement Award Certificates will be sent to the Teacher via email.
Teams may progress through all 4 Levels of the VEX GO Challenge. Points will accumulate through the levels.
