General Info

All approved events and event attendees are required to follow all local, state, federal, or any other government ordinances regarding COVID-19 safety procedures, social distancing, and best hygiene practices. 

Masks are required for this event. Please review RIT's Safety Plan for Visitors under the "Health and Safety Policies​" tab.

Welcome to the 5th annual VEX U Robotics Event at Rochester Institute of Technology. The event is hosted by RIT's VEX U Robotics team.

 

We will have at least two competition fields, one skills field, and at least one practice field available. Skills will be open during qualification rounds and lunch (see agenda).

 

Each team will have a table/chairs/power available to them. We will be using VEXText (optional) and scores will be live updated to the VEX Via app as well as robotevents.com.

 

Building & Room:

This event will be taking place in Louise Slaughter Hall Rm 2240.  There will be signs directing you to the room.  

 

Parking:

Cars may drop off near the stairway near Sustainability Institute Hall / Engineering Technology Hall and park in either T, J, or F lots.

Parking permits are not required on weekends.

Food:

Lunch will not be provided.  There are dining options on RIT's campus(not many are open on Sundays - Link to RIT dining schedule/operation hours is linked below).  There are many off-campus options to either pick up or have delivered to RIT.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

We will make all attempts to run the event, however, the event may be canceled if the university closes, travel conditions become too severe/dangerous, or other things outside of our control. We will be in touch with coaches if there are any travel concerns and will notify them of a decision as soon as we know. 

There will be every attempt to postpone the event due to inclement weather to a new date before canceling the event completely.

RIT Safety Plan for Visitors:

Requirements for Visitors

All visitors, invited guests, contractors, and temporary employees (those hired through a temporary employment agency) are strongly encouraged to receive the COVID-19 vaccination. Vaccinations are readily available in our region. Regardless of vaccination status, visitors, invited guests, contractors, and temporary employees will ensure that they are free from symptoms of and known exposure to COVID-19 before coming onto campus. They shall comply with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the RIT Safety Plan, and any other specific requirements outlined by the department hosting their visit. Failure to comply shall result in the removal of visitors, invited guests, contractors, and temporary employees until such time as assurances can be provided that compliance has been achieved.

Visitors, invited guests, contractors, and temporary employees expected to be on campus for less than one day, shall wear appropriate face masks while on campus when indoors in the presence of others, indoors moving through space occupied by others, or outdoors when six (6) feet of distance from other individuals cannot be consistently maintained. They are not required to notify the department hosting their visit of their vaccination status, nor are they required to provide proof of a COVID-19 negative test.

Visitors, invited guests, contractors, and temporary employees expected to be on campus for more than one day, shall wear appropriate face masks while on campus when indoors in the presence of others, indoors moving through space occupied by others, or outdoors when six (6) feet of distance from other individuals cannot be consistently maintained and notify the department hosting their visit of their vaccination status before coming onto campus. If not fully vaccinated, visitors, invited guests, contractors, and temporary employees, spending more than one day on campus, shall provide proof of a COVID-19 PCR negative test within 72 hours of coming onto campus, or proof of a COVID-19 Antigen test on the day of arrival onto campus. Unvaccinated visitors, invited guests, contractors, and temporary employees coming onto campus on a regular basis and/or working on campus on a daily basis shall provide proof of testing on a weekly basis.

Judging Format
