Bell AVR Competition - Welcome!

Students use hands-on, industry-standard tools to design, build, and compete against teams from around the US with the most advanced aerial robotics technology available today. Participation in the Bell Advanced Vertical Robotics Competition prepares students for tomorrow’s STEM workforce needs on the ground and in the sky. 

Scrimmage Event

This event is a scrimmage rather than a qualifying event.  This is to provide teams an opportunity to test out their designs, get technical support, and conduct final testing on the field electronics.  Teams will have 2 scheduled matches at the beginning of the event on an official competition field, and the remainder of the event day will be open to play on a first-come-first-serve basis.  Due to the possibility of finalizing the field electronics and scoring, teams should anticipate some delays throughout the day.  Teams are not obligated to stay the entire event day and can leave early, if desired.  Check back to the Agenda page as the date approaches to get more information on the event activities.  No judging or team presentations will be conducted during this scrimmage.

How to Register

This event is free for 2023 Bell AVR Teams.  Your team registration must be paid before you can register for this event.  Also, your team should register for your first qualifying event before attempting to register for this event.  If your team is interested in registering for this event, add your team to the Waitlist.  The RECF Bell AVR team will contact you to confirm that you have been added to the event if there is capacity.  

How to waitlist your team: To waitlist your team for a scrimmage, your 2nd, or subsequent event, make your way to the Waitlist tab on the right side of this page. You should see a green ADD button beside your teams name.  Click add, and your teams should be added.  If you see a message saying that you do not have any eligible teams to add to the waitlist, please make sure that your team is marked as paid for the season registration.  Teams who are not fully paid and registered will not be able to waitlist or register for events.

Team Lunches

UTA Engineering is sponsoring the team lunches at UTA this season.  The lunch menu will include an assortment of pizzas and bottled water, and will be served in the Team Pit area.  Outside food and drinks are allowed, so if there are any dietary concerns or if teams want additional food, they are welcome to bring it into the venue.
