General Info

The Aerial Drone Regional Competition is scheduled to take place in Kuwait on April 8th and 9th, 2025. This event is part of the Mission 2025: Gravity competition created by the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation.

The competition offers a hands-on educational experience in drone technology, encompassing flight principles, programming, documentation, and communication skills. Participants will have the opportunity to explore drone-related careers while enhancing their technical abilities.

If weather conditions necessitate a change in the competition date, the announcement will be made through the competition registration website and social media platforms.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: There is no fee for registration.

 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: There is no fee for registration.

 

Health and Safety Policies

Health and Safety Policies – Kuwait Aerial Drone Regional Competition

1. General Safety Guidelines

  • All participants, trainers, and staff must comply with the competition’s health and safety rules at all times.
  • Safety briefings will be conducted before the competition starts, covering emergency procedures and safe drone operation.
  • A Safety Officer will be present on-site to monitor compliance and address concerns immediately.

2. Drone Operation Safety

  • Only approved drones provided by the competition organizers may be used.
  • All drones must undergo a pre-flight safety inspection to ensure mechanical and electronic integrity.
  • Operators must wear protective eyewear during flight activities.
  • Participants are required to conduct a safety check before each flight, including:
    • Battery condition
    • Propeller integrity
    • Controller calibration

3. Flight Zone and Spectator Safety

  • Designated no-fly zones will be marked to protect spectators and non-participants.
  • Only authorized personnel and participants are allowed in the drone flight area.
  • Physical barriers will separate the flight area from spectators to minimize risks.
  • Emergency kill-switches will be available for immediate drone deactivation if required.

4. Emergency Procedures

  • First Aid stations will be present and fully equipped to respond to injuries.
  • In case of a drone malfunction or flyaway:
    • Immediately notify competition officials.
    • Cease all flights until the issue is resolved.
  • Evacuation routes and emergency exits will be clearly marked and communicated during the safety briefing.

5. Participant Requirements

  • All participants must:
    • Sign a liability waiver before competing.
    • Be familiar with the drone’s operation manual.
    • Follow all instructions from competition officials without exception.
  • Participants under 18 years old must have a guardian’s consent.

6. Environmental Considerations

  • Batteries must be disposed of in designated containers.
  • Participants must respect the venue and ensure no damage to property or the environment.
