General Info

This event is located in the West Region which includes:

USA: Alaska, American Samoa, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming

Canada: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Yukon Territory, Northwest Territories

Please note: Only teams that are a part of the West Region are eligible to earn invitations to Regional Championships from this event. If your team is from outside this region, you may attend the event and will be eligible to earn awards and post scores to the global skills rankings, but will not be eligible to qualify for a Regional Championship from this event.

 

This event is an Invitational Tournament  for Middle School Teams only hosted by City of San Diego Parks and Recreation and  Millennial Tech Middle School (SDUSD).  This is a qualifying tournament.  Coaches, please add your teams to the waitlist so the EP can move them into the tournament. 

  • Please note: We are hosting an OPEN Tournament on March 6.  All teams are welcome to register for that tournament. 

If other teams are interested in attending, please add your team to the waitlist. If there are spaces available teams may be invited to attend.

  • Safety glasses will be required. 
  • Physical Competition Logbooks or printed copies of the digtial Logbooks will be turned in at Check-In if the team wants it to be considered for judging. 
  • Participation release forms should be uploaded before the event. 
  • Be sure to read the information found in the Documents Tab to be prepared for the tournament.

The Schedule for the Tournament is Subject to Change

8:00 am -  Doors open, Team check in and Flight Clearance Inspection begins

8:15 am - Piloting Mission & Autonomous Flight Skills Mission Begins ( As teams arrive and get set up, they can head over and start on one of these two fields) 

9:30  -Official Opening and Welcoming of Teams to the Event 

         Flight Team Meeting and Match Schedule Created

9:45 -  Teamwork Matches, Autonomous Flight Mission and Judging

11:30- Lunch

12:00- Resume Teamwork Matches, Autonomous Flight Mission and Judging

1:00 Alliance Selection

1:30 Finals and Awards

Fingerprints must be on file with the City of San Deigo Parks and Recreation to volunteer with for event. 

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

This event will be held rain or shine.

If any changes occur due to an emergency or bad weather - teams will be notified by email. 

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

A refund would be given minus the $5 processing fee. 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:
