General Info

Welcome to the Rose-Hulman 2025 Aerial Drones Competition Tournament!

Saturday, March 8, 20205

  • This event is open to in and out-of-state teams but note the Region information.
  • Teams are expected to pay the registration fee at the time of registration.
  • Directions to Rose-Hulman campus included below. Follow the Drone Event signage posted on main entrance.  Check in at the SRC.
  • Safety glasses will be required.
  • We anticipate the event to conclude by 4:30 PM.

This event is located in the North Central Region which includes:

  • USA: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Ohio, Wisconsin 
  • Canada: Manitoba, Ontario, Nunavut

Please note: Only teams that are part of the North Central Region are eligible to earn invitations to Regional Championships from this event. If your team is from outside this region, you may attend the event and will be eligible to earn awards and post scores to the global skills rankings but will not be eligible to qualify for a Regional Championship from this event.

 

Competition Preparation

This event is sure to be fast-paced and exciting. All teams should come prepared for the competition. Here are a few steps that every team should take to ensure that they are prepared:

1. Review the rules and run through the inspection checklist about a week before the competition so your team has ample time for adjustments. The inspection checklist can be found on the Documents tab. 

2. Pack for the event the day before, and remember to bring the following:

  • Drone and remote
  • Goggles/Safety Glasses
  • Spare parts & tools
  • Batteries and chargers
  • Programming cable
  • Power strip
  • Laptop computer
  • Digital Competition Logbook 

3. Remember that safety comes first.

  • NO flying outside of designated areas.
    • The first violation of this will remove you from judged awards.
    • The second violation will result in asking the team to leave.
  • Please don't bring tools that pose a safety risk to your team or others nearby.

4. Each player and coach/mentor must have completed and signed the following forms:

  • Robot Events Participation and Consent Form – Use this LINK for information on completing the Participant Release Form.
  • Rose-Hulman Waiver Release Form – Download using this LINK.
  • Rose-Hulman Photo Release Form – Download using this LINK.

All forms can be completed online or physical copies can be completed and uploaded to the coach's Robot Events account for each team.

*These need to be completed and/or uploaded before the event.

Be sure to look at the documents located in the Documents tab of the event posting. Included are the inspection forms and judging rubrics. 

 

Waiting List

If this event is full, please feel free to add your team to the Waiting List and then contact the Event Partner (Primary Contact on the General Info tab). You must be in the online waiting list through robot events to be added if a spot opens. If you are moved from the Waiting List to the Registered Teams List, please be prepared to pay for the event promptly on your robotevents.com account or make arrangements with the Event Partner to pay directly at the tournament.

 

Walk-up Teams & Walk-Up Skills

Walk-up teams WILL NOT be permitted to compete, either in the tournament or to run Skills Only. There are no exceptions. If your team wishes to compete, they must register before the registration deadline.

Digital Competition Logbooks

Links to Digital Competition Logbooks must be submitted through the coach account on robotevents.com on or before March 3, 2025 to be considered for judged awards. See How to Submit a Digital Competition Logbook.

 

Concessions

Please note that Rose-Hulman campus will be on quarter break, so on-campus dining options will be limited or unavailable.  Concessions will be available for purchase throughout the event. 

Rose-Hulman campus is conveniently located near several food establishments for your dining needs as well.

A hospitality room will also be available for designated guests.

Refund and Payment Policies

There will be no refunds unless the Event Partner cancels the event, in which case all teams will receive a full refund less any fees from Robotevents.
