General Info

Welcome to our Aerial Drone Competition at Riverfield Academy for Mission 2025: Gravity.

We are ready to host our annual tournament and are looking forward to a fun and eventful day!  All participants and spectators are welcome.

To prepare for the event, be sure to read the game manual, review the inspection form and review the competition logbook and team judging rubrics.  

Check the official Aerial Drone Competiton Official Q & A forum for any rule updates and changes.

Prep for your interviews with the judges. Check the awards tab to see what awards will be given during the tournament. Review the descriptions and criteria for the awards that are being given during the tournament. 

Be sure to label everything that you bring. Here are a few items that you don't want to forget:

  • Goggles/Safety Glasses 
  • Spare parts & tools 
  • Batteries and chargers 
  • Programming cable   
  • Power strip  
  • Laptop computer

Digital Competition Logbooks

Links to Digital Competition Logbooks must be submitted through the coach account on robotevents.com on or before March 5, 2025 to be considered for judged awards. See How to Submit a Digital Competition Logbook.

Banners and other decorations for your team pit area will be allowed. 1 table and 3 chairs will be set up for each team. 

Food options are available in town.  Some concession items will be available at the event.  Plan accordingly.

Spectators are allowed to bring their own seating for the event.  

 

  • This event is located in the Southeast Region which includes:  Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. 

  • Teams who are from the Southeast Region and earn a qualifying award at this event will be invited to the Southeast Regional Championship - Lexington, South Carolina, April 14-15, 2025.

Please note: If you are a team from outside this region, you may attend the event and will be eligible to earn awards and post scores to the global skills rankings, but you are not eligible to earn invitations to regional championships from this event.

Volunteer

We are in need of volunteers. Training for Referees and Judges will be provided by virtual webinars one month prior to the event. All teams are expected to have volunteers that can fill spots, if needed. If you are able to volunteer please email [email protected]

No prior experience is needed. Certification Courses for Judge Advisors and Head Referees are available at training.recf.org

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

All cancellations will be communicated through email. Please check your email the day before and the morning of the tournament (before leaving).

Unfortunately, there will be no make-up in case of weather cancellations.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: We will only cancel if it is a MAJOR weather event or other unexpected event.  We will refund money minus the robotevents fees, after receiving payment from robotevents.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend: No Refunds - plan accordingly and only register if you are sure you are coming.
