General Info

This is an High School event being held at NASA Langley Research Center.

Because this event is being offered at a federal facility each team will need to submit a list of all attendees over 18.

All attendees over 18 must show the guard a valid state ID and must be a US citizen.

USA: Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia

Canada: Quebec, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia

Please note: Only teams that are a part of the Northeast Region are eligible to earn invitations to Regional Championships from this event. If your team is from outside this region, you may attend the event and will be eligible to earn awards and post scores to the global skills rankings, but will not be eligible to qualify for a Regional Championship from this event.

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

In the event of inclement weather in the Hampton Roads area, we would notitfy each competing organization's point of contact by 2pm the day before the competition.

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event: 

Refunds would be given minus the REC Foundation's transaction fee. 

If the Event Partner postpones the event:

Refunds would be considered on a case-by-case basis if the event partner postpones the event. 

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

Due to the cost of the event no refunds will be given.

  • Depart from Norfolk International Airport, VA (0.4 miles)
  • Turn left onto Norview Ave (0.8 miles)

  • Take ramp right for I-64 West / Hampton Roads Beltway toward Richmond / Hampton (17.3 miles)
  • At exit 262B, take ramp right for SR-134 North / Magruder Blvd toward Poquoson / NASA (2.1 miles)
  • Take ramp right for SR-172 North / Commander Shepard Blvd toward NASA / LAFB (1.1 miles)
  • Turn right onto Langley Blvd

From Points West, North

From Newport News-Williamsburg International Airport: 

  • Depart toward Bland Blvd (0.2 miles)
  • Keep straight onto Bland Blvd (0.3 miles)
  • Turn left onto SR-143 East / Jefferson Ave (1.1 miles)
  • Take ramp right for I-64 East toward Norfolk / Hampton (6.7 miles)
  • At exit 261B, take ramp right and follow signs for Hampton Roads Center Pkwy (1.2 miles)
  • Take ramp right and follow signs for Magruder Blvd / SR-134 (0.2 miles)
  • Turn left onto SR-134 North / Magruder Blvd (1.3 miles)
  • Take ramp right for SR-172 North / Commander Shepard Blvd toward NASA / LAFB (1.1 miles)
  • Turn right onto Langley Blvd

Entering the gate

All commercial vehicles shall enter the Commercial Vehicle Inspection (CVI) lane, all privately owned vehicles (POV’s) such as personal use may proceed directly to the Officer at the Main Gate.

Commercial vans and buses will need to pull into the Commercial Vehicle Inspection (CVI) lane on the right, adjacent to the Main Gate entrance into the Center.

Personal cars and vans can pull up to the main gate.

All adult visitors (18+) must be on the preapproved list and present a valid state or federal picture ID (e.g., Driver’s license, state ID card, Government ID card) and be US citizens.
