8th Brigade Aerial Drone Competition - Two Day Event
The tournament will be held in the Pavilion Ballroom at the Grand Sierra Resort, 2500 E. 2nd St, Reno, NV 89595. This competition consists of all four Missions = Autonomous, Piloting, Teamwork and Communications (Competition Logbooks and Team Interviews).
- There will be an industry career event the evening of the 21st with industry experts and static displays.
- There is plenty of parking on the pool side entrance area.
- There will be a lunch break per the schedule. Lunch is up to coaches to provide - there are many restaurants and "to go" food vendors inside the resort.
- Bottled water will be provided in the Pavilion area and restrooms are inside the same room.
- Each team will have its own Pit Table and access to electrical outlet. Recommend you bring a long extension cord and multiple outlet power strip.
- Safety glasses are required.
- Teams are encouraged to bring their own custom team table covering (tables will already have a black table covering).
- Digital Competition Logbooks (or scanned copies of physical logbooks) are due two weeks prior to the Competition and will not be accepted after 5pm local time on Friday, February 7th. These must be submitted by the coach via RobotEvents.com. For instructions on how to submit the Competition Logbooks use this LINK. No Competition Logbooks will be accepted on the day of the tournament.
- 8th Brigade Teams will be lodged at the GSR. All teams are welcome to lodge at the GSR but they do not offer the government rate. If you are a JROTC team you can ask your military service for an exception.
- Nearby hotels that offer the government rate include The Aloft Reno Airport and the Comfort Inn & Suites. There are many more options and I will add the ones I recommend the most here as I have time to contact them.
- Event shirts are available through preorder (TBP).
