Temperature Notice: The weather forecast for this Saturday Feb 10, 2024 calls for a morning temperature of 49 deg F at 7:30am.  Our gym is NOT heated.  So please dress accordingly. 

 

West Region

This event is located in the West Region which includes: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

  • Teams who are from the West Region and earn a qualifying award at this event will be invited to the West Regional Championship - in Salt Lake City, Utah at the Legacy Event Coliseum on May 31-June 1, 2024.

Please note: If you are a team from outside this region, you may attend the event and will be eligible to earn awards and post scores to the global skills rankings, but you are not eligible to earn invitations to regional championships from this event.

Welcome to the Inaugural "Pacifica@Santa Monica Bay Aerial Drone Competition". Together, we will make drone history by launching this first-ever Tournament event on the westside of Los Angeles County.  

  • This is a blended tournament for both middle and high school teams.  
  • Doors open at 7:30 am.
  • The tournament will run from 8 am to 5 pm. 
  • A detailed tournament agenda will be posted at a later date, as well as details on lunch options.  
  • Safety glasses will be required (each team must bring their own safety glasses)
  • Competition Logbooks will be turned in at check in if the team wants the logbook to be considered for judging. 
  • Parking:
    • Metered 2-hour street parking is available in the neighborhood.  Please read the street parking signs CAREFULLY. 
    • Directly east across 18th Street (facing our 18th Street school entrance), there is an open parking lot (from 18th St to a "dividing" alleyway).  Park there at your own risk. 
  • Food Options:
    • Food Truck will be on site for lunch food purchases.  
    • Coffee and Acai bowl vendor will be on site all day in the Courtyard.
    • Student Concession stand with snacks, fruit, and drinks will be available in the courtyard.  Cash only.

Volunteer

For this Qualifying Tournament, the Pacifica Christian HS Event Director may issue a call to registered teams to provide volunteer referees and judges.  However, the exact number of volunteers is TBD at this time.  If you are interested in volunteering, please email "Doc" Sumida at [email protected]. No prior experience is required. Training will be through online webinars. 

Emergency/Bad Weather Policy

Not applicable; the Aerial Drone Competition Tournament is entirely indoors. 

Refund and Payment Policies

If the Event Partner cancels the event:

Refunds will be issued minus any fees charged by RobotEvents.com.

If a Coach/Mentor completes registration for the event then chooses to withdraw or not attend:

No refunds will be issued.
